Fonterra to remove two product batches

Fonterra Brands Sri Lanka today clarified that they are complying with a notification by the Ministry of Health and recalling two batches of products.

The two batches of product being removed are : Batch number 107610163 of Anchor 1+ and Batch number 0605C0883 of Anchor milk powder.

At a press briefing in Colombo today (08) the company clarified, “While independent and internationally accredited labs have carried our 202 tests on our



Fonterra consumer branded products in Sri Lanka and found no traces of DCD, we are complying with this directive and removing this small amount of product from retail shelves.

Speaking at the press briefing, managing Director of Fonterra Brands Sri Lanka - Leon Clement said that they expect to have all of this products removed from shelves within 48 hours starting from the point of the government’s notification yesterday (07).

He emphasized that the recall was limited to the above to batches and that a blanket ban was not imposed on Anchor dairy products in Sri Lanka.
