Father and son found in Vietnam jungle after fleeing their village during the war 40 years ago

AN 82-year-old man and his 41-year-old son have been found living in a forest in central Vietnam after they went missing during the country's war with the US.

The older man could communicate a little in the Cor ethnic minority language, but his son only knew a few words, an official at Tay Tra commune in Quang Ngai province said.

Ho Van Thanh was last seen running into the woods with his then-infant son Ho Van Lang after a bomb exploded in his home, killing his wife and two other children in 1973, newspaper Dan Tri reported.

They were discovered when two people from a nearby village ventured 40 kilometres into the forest looking for firewood and spotted the two men's tree house. The villagers reported the find to local authorities who recovered the pair on Wednesday.

The two men survived by cultivating forest vegetables and hunting animals. They had no contact with the outside world, the report said.

This Punjab boy has a seven-inch-long tail

People have been flocking to a tiny village in Punjab to pay obeisance to a boy born with a seven-inch-long tail since his birth in 2001.

Though medical experts have described the formation of tail a congenital malformation, locals perceive it as a sign of divinity, claiming the child also shares other similarities with Hindu monkey god Hanuman.

Twelve-year-old Arshad Ali, who lives in Nabipur village in Paunjab's Fatehgarh district, is known as Balaji among his devotees.

"Like Lord Hanuman, Ali has nine divine marks on his body. Besides the tail, he has a Padma sign on his foot and signs of Sita and Kada on his left arm. He is very special to them," says Iqbal Qureshi, his maternal grandfather.

Small bomb hits Buddhist temple in Indonesia; one injured

Police and government officials on Monday condemned an attack on a Buddhist temple in Indonesia's capital after a small bomb detonated as devotees inside prayed, injuring one person. Two other devices failed to go off.

The explosion happened Sunday night at the Ekayana Grha Buddhist temple in West Jakarta.

The blast went off near the front door of the building, slightly damaging the structure,Indonesian chief of National Police Detective Lt. Gen. Sutarman told reporters at the scene.

Another bomb placed near the back door emitted smoke, but did not go off and a third device placed inside the temple also failed to go off, added Sutarman, who like many Indonesians, uses a single name.

Muslim militants in Indonesia angered over sectarian violence between Buddhists and Muslims in Myanmar have threatened to attack Buddhist temples here.

In May, two men were arrested with low explosives in a backpack as part of an alleged plot to bomb the Myanmar Embassy in Jakarta.

The incident occurred days ahead of festivities planned to celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramazan. Indonesia is the world's most populous Muslim nation, and most people practice a moderate form of the religion.
