2013 Miss Sri Lanka crown goes to Iresha Asanki

     Iresha Asanki was crowned as the Beauty Queen 2013 Miss Sri Lanka at the contest held at Hilton Hotel last night. As such, it would be Iresha who would be representing Sri Lanka in the Miss World Contest to be held at the end of the year.

    Iresha who studied at Buddhist Ladies College, Colombo hails from Ratmalana. Iresha who contested at the Miss Ceylinco VIP and Super Model International contest held last year works as a model.

   The runners-up of yesterday's contest was Nadeeka Silva while Sharon won 3rd place.

PABODA GIVES BIRTH TO BABY BOY

Baby boy for Paboda .... in France

     It is reported that popular teledrama actress Paboda Sandeepani has given birth to first-born baby on 4th July at a private hospital in France.

It  is also reported that her baby son was born about 3 weeks before the expected date. Paboda Sanjeewani entered into marriage as a result of a love affair and her husband is Sidath, an owner of a garage from Kottawa.

    Though her mother, another popular teledrama actress Geetha Kanthi Jayakody is in Sri Lanka, her father is in France. However, Paboda left to France when time was closing upon her to deliver the baby Geetha Kanthi had fixed the date to travel to France when that period was drawing nigh assuming that the baby would be born on the 24th of this month.

    Whatever it is, as the baby was born prior to the expected date and was not able to be present on that date, she has by now travelled to France.

 Sakvithi Ranasinghe who was a most prominent tuition-businessman, imprisoned for financial fraud had to a appear in courts for allegations of multiple marriages. He admitted in another rape case that he was responsible for having raped his wife while she was 14 years old.

     According to information revealed by Sakvithi in this court case, he admitted guilt for his multiple marriages as well as raping his wife while she was still a minor. As reported, the incident is as follows:
                                                                                                                     
 Sakvithi Ranasinghe had first married a woman by the name of Subashini de Silva Ariyaratna. She was married to him at a time when Sakvithi began his business as a tuition master.

Sakvithi Ranasinghe disclosed in courts that he conducted many tuition classes at the time he was popular and that he also conducted group classes to teach English.

POISONED 'CHOCOLATES' KILL TWO KIDS

Kids who ate rat poison thinking them to be chocolates .... die

The unfortunate deaths of 2 children who tasted poison kept as a bait for rats during the absence of the parents was reported from Kamburupitiya area.

The 2 children were aged 6 and 3 years. These deaths occurred as a result of the neglect of the parents to remove the rat poison kept on the roof in the night and which had fallen down from the roof after which the 2 children had picked them up.

 It was reported that on this occasion the father of the children had gone to the Pola while the mother had gone to the well to wash clothes and the elder sister of the children too had been away from home. When the mother returned home she found the 2 children unconscious. This is what she had to say:
