Bride dies after honeymoon at agbopura

Did break-up of affair and parental infuence to marry another make her jump into well?

 Did crafty bridegroom kill bride?

     An unfortunate and suspected case of a young girl who had to marry another by leaving her long-term association with her lover because of a proposal brought forward by her parents was found dead inside a well after her honeymoon was reported from Agbopura 84 in Kantalai.

    Details according to reports are as follows:
 Champika Udayakanthi, 30 years of age was an attractive girl resident in Danture, Kandy and was having a love affair to which her parents had strongly opposed. 

In order to break the affair, the parents of the girl had made use of a marriage broker to find a partner for her. The marriage broker had then brought a proposal from a 33 year old man who was engaged in the area and who was involved in a business of selling sand.

Families of Artistes broken-up by .... the media -Semini



   

Tele-actress Semini Iddamalgoda has explained her ideas to a weekend newspaper saying that the media is responsible for the break-up of most families of those connected to acting in Sri Lanka.

    Though she has not explicitly mentioned that so-and-so's family broke-up because of such and such a media when expressing this idea, she had made this allegation on a broad basis inferring that that responsibility lies on the shoulders of the media. 

When questioned about having her hair cut in the recent past she replied that it was done not for a reason connected to the Arts and because she wanted to put her hair in order because it was hopeless-looking. When being questioned briefly, she expressed the following ideas:

WANNILA AETTO'S CAB POJJA


Chief of Uruwarige Wannila Aetto will be travelling in a cab pojja in a few day's time. He is to get this opportunity on a grant made by the government. According to information received by the Secretary of the Mahiyangana Provincial Council, 

it has been decided to afford a cab for Wannila Aetto's travelling and it was reported that this cab and the driver is to be provided by the Provincial Council office. After informing the Provincial Council office about all official journeys he would undertake as and when warranted, the cab and the driver would be provided for him. It is reported that approximately 150 - 200 litres fuel would be allocated to him for his useage while a further quantity of fuel would be made available to him in the case of distant travelling.
